Sessions - Music Recording - Band Recording - Demo Recording CD Master
At ProCopy we’re conscious that the music industry is going
through some challenging times so we’ve come up with some
studio recording packages to help independent bands produce some demo
tracks and output some CDs. We’ve called these recordings ourBootleg Sessions.
They’re intended to be quick “live” types
of sessions but give flexibility depending on how far you want to go
and what you want to produce as an end product.
Here’s how a typical session will go:
- 1 Hour allowed to set up and sound check
- 1 Hour to record a “set of
Songs” like you’d play live
- 1 Hour “Quick Mix” mix down
songs for the CD master
- 1/2 Hour CD master and output
- 40 Slimline CD copies and 2-panel insert
produced
You can take away the ProTools files and mix down further at home if
required or you can spend more time in our control room to fine tune a
couple of tracks if you want to at our normal mix down rates and
produce another demo EP. Or you can spend more time on the CD mastering
stage if your budget allows.

Shanghai Twang was built to
be an extension of the musical personality of producer, musician,
songwriter and recording/mix/mastering engineer Pete Grandison. It's
got a bohemian, loungeroom feel with chinoiserie and bedouin chic
styling. The studio is hidden within a warehouse, but is purpose-built
with state-of-the-art acoustic design by the renowned John Sayers.
Despite its boutique style, the studio has four spacious, independently
wired, airconditioned and isolated recording rooms, all with line of
sight through glass doors and windows. This allows musicians to be
recorded playing live together but still affords the chance to isolate
sound sources for editing and sound shaping later. The control room is
designed for critical listening - mixing and mastering - but is large
enough to put a band in. There's kitchen, courtyard, and bathroom
facilities and an upstairs lounge with seating and a viewing window
into the live room below. | |

Sonic Lolly's philosophy draws on the famous George Martin quote that
states "All You Need Is Ears".

achieve the desired sonic results. Knowing when to "hit record" is key
