On a never ending quest to make perfect records, Big Dog offers a wide variety of quality microphones, an awesome sounding analogue desk,numerous eclectic valve and solid state pre-amps from the 60s, old school spring reverbs and tape delay, plus possibly the only 24 track 2inch Studer tape machine this side of the country. A recently upgraded digital system also offers exceptional high quality digital recording.
Matt Jenkins is an audio engineer and producer that has been making records for several years. Using a modest assortment of equipment, Matt has engineered,produced, co-produced and mixed numerous albums and assorted singles and EPs for local Perth bands. He is also an experienced musician,songwriter and arranger.
Partner Jason Hayles is also a very talented engineer and producer from the friendly state of Victoria. Jason is an experienced musician, songwriter and arranger,who has recorded numerous Albums, EPs and Singles. He is also an accomplished mastering engineer. |

A good old-fashioned Recording Studio, centrally located, (near Curtin Uni) with plenty of acoustically sound space for most set-ups (up to 5-piece groups with drums, or small choirs) and classic gear including vintage microphones (Neumann, AKG) and analogue console happily interfaced with the computer (Cubase, etc.) for high resolution, “organic” recording, mixing and mastering.
Plus Andrew, a good old-fashioned recording engineer with over30 years experience and an interest in all music. With a particular passion for anything acoustic and original, Andrew started “Homegrown” on UVS-FM (now on RTR-FM) back in 1980.

Lollybox, the recording division of Sonic Lolly (Australia),is the creative home of industry veteran producer / composer /recording artist Noah Shilkin.
Idyllically situated on 8 acres just outside of Margaret River, Lollybox Studios are both a creative and innovative approach to musical recording projects. Sonic Lolly's philosophy draws on the famous George Martin quote that states "All You Need Is Ears".
The equipment is never the focus but merely the transparent tool with which to achieve the desired sonic results. Knowing when to "hit record" is key to the production and development approach at Lollybox. Studio experience and excellent recording technique are applied to garner and capture the very best arrangements, song structures and ultimately performances.
Pricing is based on a per song/project basis (not an hourly rate).
Accommodation is readily available and can be arranged in the nearby Margaret River region. The sessions are typically classified as "residential" recording projects.

Established by Matt Giovannangelo in 2005, Underground Studios is setup to offer the same quality equipment found in big commercial recording studios on a smaller scale, allowing rates to be cheaper. In turn this also provides a place where bands can be themselves and not be intimidated by their surroundings. Because of the low rates bands can relax and not stress about spending the time it takes to get the job done to their complete satisfaction.
