Local Knowledge - International Reach
WAM is always there for you - with dedicated, ongoing support through our industry Information Services, state/national government level Industry Advocacy, plus National and International promotion of the West Australian music industry.

Annual Events & Local Recognition
WAM offers a wide range support to the WA contemporary music industry throughout the year, plus two high profile, annual contemporary music industry events - the WAMi Festival (including the WAMi Awards, Kiss My WAMi Compilation, Music Industry Workshops, Kiss My Camera) & WAM Song of the Year Songwriting Competition.

WAM also offers highly specialised, ongoing service and support to the West Australian music industry. Professional development and networking opportunities are also provided through WAM Workshops.

Other specialist events include gigs and workshops held Regionally and in Schools too.

WAM also coordinate partnered, paid band initiatives, such as Sunday Bands in the City.

Why WAM?
No one understands the needs and obligations of WA musicians and related industries like the West Australian Music Industry Association. WAM (originally the Western Australian Rock Music Industry Association Inc) was formed in 1985.

WAM is unique in it's support for both "industry" and "individual musos" of all genres and ages throughout Western Australia. West Australia, a state 1/3 the size of the entire Australian continent, is an area larger than most European countries and the second largest sub-national entity in the world (2,525,500 sq km). The capital city of Perth is one of the most isolated cities on the planet, and produces some of the strongest and most unique musical acts... isolation seems to strengthen and improve our unique and original flavour!
