Station, West TV,
will commence 'test transmission' on channel 44 from
Monday 15 March. You will need to rescan your TV receiver to pick up the new station. Local, free to air content is anticipated to hit

The Australian Music Radio Airplay Project (AMRAP) today announced stage
two of its AirIT initiative at the Adelaide Fuse Festival. AirIT is
community radio’s exclusive catalogue of Australian music, provided free
by Amrap for both the sector and the music industry. The stage
two roll out gives all unsigned Australian artists eligibility to apply
for AirIT.... By
engaging AirIT to enhance an artist’s community radio servicing, the
average artist receives $700 worth of free promotion and distribution. read more...

MELBOURNE - Victorian Police have today shut down one of Australia’s
largest illegal music burning operations in Footscray, Melbourne.
Working in conjunction with anti-piracy group Music Industry Piracy
Investigations (MIPI), police seized close to 100 CD burners and
approximately 25,000 discs containing pirate music housed in a suburban

Composers, has released its annual Global Economic Survey that uses
royalty collections data provided by its members. After 4 consecutive years of growth, collection figures were down 1.5%,

IFPI has today released its
Digital Music Report 2010 which shows that more than a quarter of all
recorded music industry revenues worldwide are now coming from digital
channels, as music companies license music in partnership with internet
services providers (ISPs) and mobile operators, subscription services,
streaming sites and hundreds of download stores. However, despite the
continuing growth of the digital music business... illegal
file-sharing and other forms of online theft are continuing to undermine
