2010 WAMi MUSIC BUSINESS CONFERENCE PITCH SESSIONS
9/03/2010 4:30:00 PM by Daphne Tan
Applications are now open to all Australian Artists & their representatives for the 2010 WAMi Music Business Conference professional pitch panel sessions.

'Bill Me' offers opportunities for live festival performance, and 'Synch Me' for soundtrack work... diversify your act's income potential by applying for these fantastic opportunities!

BILL ME

"Bill Me" gives 15 artists or artist representatives the chance to pitch a track to four festival booking agents from Australia and possibly beyond, in front of a live audience at the 2010 WAMi Music Business Conference on Saturday 22 May in Perth, WA.

The panellists will then offer 1 of 3 things:
  • General feedback on the suitability of the act for the festival's represented.
  • Specific feedback and interest in possibly using the act for future festivals and events.
  • Sign up the act on the spot for a festival slot.

This is a fantastic opportunity for acts to get in front of bookers from some of the nations most popular festivals. Additionally, with 200+ delegates at the conference, who knows who will be in the audience.

Each artist with a track selected will be provided with one FREE CONFERENCE REGISTRATION. All representatives of the acts selected will be responsible for their own travel, transport and accommodation costs to attend "Bill Me". Please be aware that notification will take place on Monday 26 April, meaning successful applicants will have 3.5 weeks to make travel arrangements.

Apply online today at www.sonicbids.com/billme
'Bill Me' submissions close Friday 16 April 2010.

SYNCH ME
"Sync Me" will select 15 artists or artist representatives to pitch a track to three music supervisors from the Australia and beyond, in front of a live audience at the 2010 WAMi Music Business Conference (20-22 May). The pitch is scheduled for Saturday 22 May.

The panellists will then offer 1 of 3 things:
  • General feedback on the usability of the track for synchronisation in film, television, games, advertising, and other mediums.
  • Specific feedback and interest in using the track or hearing more from the artist for future projects
  • Sign up the track, on the spot, with no doubt plenty of excitement from the audience.

This is an amazing and unique opportunity for Australian artists to enter the lucrative world of synchronisation licensing.

Each artist with a track selected will be provided with one FREE CONFERENCE REGISTRATION. Selected artists will be responsible for their own travel, transport and accommodation costs to attend the 'Sync Me' session.

It has been brought to our attention that some negative comments about jazz were made by one of the presenters at the recent WAMi Awards night, at Capitol. We wish to categorically state that the views that were presented are in no way representative of the view of WAM towards jazz as a musical genre, or of the vibrant Perth jazz community and highly talented musicians therein.
