WAMi FESTIVAL PRESENTS: AFTER PARTY! AT THE BLUE ROOM THEATRE

WAM Presents: After party! at the BLUE ROOM THEATRE

THE BLUE ROOM THEATRE PARLOUR hosts After party!; a series of live music performances over February and March as a preview to the upcoming 2010 WAMi Festival (19-23 May). Take in performances by Hayley Beth, Xave Brown, Ruby Boots and Josh Fontaine as you lounge or party in the Blue Room Parlour, Verandah and Bar. Each After party! is part of THE BLUE ROOM’s “21 Summer Nights Program” and follows ‘The Thursday Set’, featuring WA music from a range of genres including indi rock, free form jazz and Middle-Eastern folk.

Come along for both gigs or just roll up for the After party!

25 February The Thursday Set:
‘Going Solo’ featuring Jimmy Stewart (Vic), Seven Weapons and Heathcote Blue

It has been brought to our attention that some negative comments about jazz were made by one of the presenters at the recent WAMi Awards night, at Capitol. We wish to categorically state that the views that were presented are in no way representative of the view of WAM towards jazz as a musical genre, or of the vibrant Perth jazz community and highly talented musicians therein.

The federal Arts Minister, Hn. Peter Garrett, has released a discussion paper aimed at developing a strategic plan for the music industry in Australia. We would like to encourage our members and other interested parties to send us your thoughts, so that we can take those into consideration in our response.
