The Western Australian Museum and WAM are delighted to announce the
Kiss My Camera photographic competition and exhibition will be returning in 2012 as part of the WAMi Festival.
Starting as a local accompaniment to the WA Museum’s Nick Cave exhibition in 2009, Kiss My Camera is now in its fourth year and continues to promote the work of WA-based music photographers.
Featuring the annual theme of ‘WA original music’, Kiss My Camera invites photographers to submit images of either a WA artist or location. This year the top 50 images will go in the running to win either ‘Best Live Image’ or ‘Best Portrait’, and will also be showcased in a group exhibition at the WA Museum, Perth, before travelling regionally to the Museum’s Albany site.
This year Pigeonhole have provided some assorted photographic goodies for both category winners, with the 'Best Live image' winner receiving a polaroid camera, two packs of film and a photo album, and the ‘Best Portrait’ winner taking home a vintage lomography camera and photo album.
Kiss My Camera exhibition 2012 will officially launch at the WA Museum, Perth to coincide with the WAMi Festival, and is set to captivate audiences with a selection of works from some of WA’s most talented emerging photographers.
