Dylan Lewis, Video Hits
WAMi Awards 2011
Saturday 28 May, 8:00pm
The Bakery, James Street Northbridge
Tickets $50+bf from nowbaking.com.au
* Ticket price also includes entry to the
triple j WAMi Festival Closing Party *

The WA Music Industry’s night of nights, the 2011 WAMi Awards, are set to take place on Saturday May 28 at The Bakery.

With presenters Dylan Lewis (Video Hits) and Dom Alessio (triple j‘s Home and Hosed) hosting proceedings, and the talented Grace Woodroofe and John Bennett gracing the stage throughout the night, it will be a night to remember as we celebrate the best in WA music for 2010/11.

Indie-blues chanteuse Grace Woodroofe is no stranger to the public eye, shooting into public awareness aged just 16, and since then recording and touring with California’s Ben Harper. Her very special performance at the 2011 WAMi Awards will be sure to enchant and delight.

Indigenous singer/songwriter John Bennett was born in Derby and has just been signed to the Too Solid label. His quiet and modest personality along with his rich, deep, pure voice make for an astonishing performance, his songs capturing the heart and the soul of his people.

With such coveted awards as the Video Hits presented Most Popular Music Video, triple j presented Most Popular Act and Most Popular Album being contested by some of WA’s top bands, the 2011 WAMi Awards are set to be the biggest awards yet.

The much sought after Golden WAMi nominees include industry heavyweights Aarom Wilson, Andrew Ryan, Dave Cutbush and Luke Rinaldi, with all the industry and public nominees vying for the ultimate prize, a WAMington.

The WAMi Awards ceremony starts at 8pm, May 28 at the Bakery, with Craft Awards being presented throughout the afternoon at the various Saturday Spectacular venues.

Tickets for all WAMi shows including industry workshops and masterclasses, partnered showcases and opening and closing parties are available to purchase through The Bakery website www.nowbaking.com.au
