The 2011 WAMi Festival is just days away now, and with a week crammed full of performances by some of WA’s best, there is no excuse not to get involved in the biggest celebration of local music in WA.
On
Sunday 22 May, Sunday Live will see Northbridge and the City come alive with stages at the Perth Cultural Centre, Murray Street Mall and Northbridge Piazza hosting a diverse number of local performances.
With performances from the likes of Owls, Sam Carmody, Robbie Jalepeno and The Fabulous Band of Faceless Bureaucrats, Rainy Day Women and Miche Suite, the Perth Cultural Centre will come to life, while over at the Northbridge Piazza The Paper Promise, One Tiger Down, Ali Towers, The Autumn Isles and Racket and Fives will sooth the crowds. Over the bridge into the City, Murray Street Malls will get a taste of funk, with the dance worthy sounds of Dilip ‘n the Davs, Milly James, Funkalleros, The Cannonels and Boom! Bap! Pow! filling the streets.
To entertain CBD workers during the week, the
Acoustic Sessions, supported by the Central Institute of Technology, will run daily from
12pm-2pm from Monday 23 May to Friday 27 May in the Murray and Hay Street malls, with a diverse range of Perth’s top musicians playing acoustic sets through the streets.

| | Weekday lunchtimes at the Northbridge Piazza, will see ‘The Community’
present a series of performances from live electronic, emcee and
collaborative performers including Diger Rokwell, Mathas, Boost Hero Man
and Maxy Bills, The Empty Cup, YLEM, Future Fresh, Sibilance, The
Stoops, Delerious and Rae.
Each weeknight, head to The Bird to enjoy their Sundowner Series
performances between 5pm and 6pm. With stripped down performances from
some of WA’s most cherished musicians, the Bird will provide the perfect
place to unwind after a long workday. | |
