WAMi Festival 2010 Wrapup

2010 WAMi FESTIVAL

presented by WAM, City of Perth and Department of Culture and the Arts

WA’s annual celebration of local and contemporary music, the WAMi Festival, has come to a close for 2010 and what a blast it was! A big thanks to everyone who played, attended, supported, reviewed, worked at and did fun stuff at WAMi10.

Thousands of people attended WAMi Festival gigs, launches, events, conference sessions, exhibitions, parties, and even a sporting match over the past five days (plus a fab regional tour!). Their smiles, performances and kind words reflect that there certainly was a great WAMi Festival vibe this year.

Soon, we will post photos and footage of WAMi10 so you can relive the fun for months to come.

Thanks again for being part of WAMi10!

Sarah Norton
WAMi Festival Director

2010 WAMi Festival applications for WA Acts have now closed.
Interstate & overseas applications have now closed.

WAMi Festival Director, Sarah Norton gives her spin on the WAMis -
"The WAMi Festival places a huge spotlight on the amazing contemporary music scene in Western Australia and this stimulates interest at local, national and international levels. The 2010 edition is particularly exciting given the recent push of new and very exciting acts locally, and ever-escalating presence of big-name acts on the local and international scenes.

The 2009 WAMi Festival put contemporary music experiences into different spaces and mediums through projects such as Kiss My Camera and the Windows on William WAMi Festival edition. These projects were really successful and we will be continuing along this path in 2010 with music-focused multimedia, recording and publishing programs."

The 2010 WAMi Festival will run 19 - 23 May with the Regional WAMi Festival Tours and special events happening in the lead up.
