The wait is over for songwriters throughout Western Australia, as 81 nominees in 16 categories are announced for WA's premiere songwriting competition - WAM Song of the Year!

Now in its 21st year, WAM Song of the Year showcases the quality and diversity of WA’s songwriting talent across 10 genres, 2 school categories, 2 special categories ‘Mentally Healthy’ and ‘Love’, plus the bonus Regional and Indigenous categories.
 
The Grand Prize winner walks away with $5,000 cash, a 3 day recording session, a mastering session, the pressing of 500 CDs plus an opportunity for a publishing deal with Perfect Pitch Publishing.
 
A Most Popular Song public vote will be held in conjunction with our Online Partner, Perthnow.com.au, starting 24 September.
 
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, hosted at the Fly By Night Musicians’ Club in Fremantle on Wednesday 13 October. Tickets go on sale Monday 27 September.
