WAM Song of the Year: Launch with Neil Murray


Get along to the WAM Song of the Year Launch, with special guest NEIL MURRAY (The Warumpi Band, writer of “My Island Home”).


 

When:  Monday 26 April, time 7pm till approximately 9pm(bar open from 6pm)

Where:  Empyrean Function Centre (the old iMax). 12 Lake St, Northbridge

Tickets:  $20 on the door, please register to ensure your spot is reserved.

Neil is one of Australia’s most revered songwriters. He is best known for penning the iconic song My Island Home, which he recorded with his band The Warumpi Band - in all he has written over 100 songs which have been recorded. For a complete bio and more info check out Neil’s website.

 

In this session for songwriters, Neil will reflect on his career and how he writes songs - (including explaining how "My Island Home" was written), interspersed with a few songs performed and taking questions from the audience.

 

All attendees will receive a songwriting discussion paper.

This is a rare opportunity for songwriters in Perth to gain an insight into the work and methods of a celebrated career songsmith.
